My Thoughts
Molly Jebber has written another great book in her new “Amish Charmed Bakery” series. “Ellie’s Redemption” takes us back to the beloved bakery where the first book took place. We follow Ellie as she tries to redeem herself in her Amish community. The community gossips can’t leave well enough alone and it seems that any hope of making a future for herself may indeed fall short because of their tales and her tarnished reputation. Even though Joel is kind and sweet, his secrets and her past may just be too much to overcome.
The reader sees that the Amish face similar situations with gossips and struggling to fit into a mold others have created. Forgiveness shines bright throughout the book along with the Bible advice of trusting in God and letting him lead our path. Jebber does a great job with character development, they come to life for the reader. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommend reading “Liza’s Second Chance” first as there is some back-story that could help the story.
Molly Jebber has left us wanting more in this series by giving away just a little that might appear in future books. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher in return for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
